TheDirector of Developmentis principally responsible for the design and implementation of a comprehensive fundraisinginitiatives within the organization. TheDirectoris expected to identify, evaluate, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospective donors. TheDirectorwill focus on individual donors and prospects but may also interact with foundations and corporations as appropriate.
Contact major gift donors and prospective donors within the assigned region with the objective of achieving a minimum of 200 face-to-face visits annually.
Identify and evaluate, in collaboration with other members of the development staff, prospective donors of major gifts within the assigned region
Develop and implement plans and strategies for cultivation and solicitation of prospective major gift donors for university-wide, as well as college, school, and other campus unit priorities
Provide leadership to overall fundraising and stewardship activities across the organization
Requirements: Bachelors degree and equivalent experience required. Demonstrated success in major gift fundraising with a focus on individuals and a minimum of four (4) years experience in fund raising or related field, preferably in a research university environment Knowledge of planned giving vehicles and ability to identify potential planned giving donors and opportunities. MUST have major gift solicitation experience with a college/university, hospital or national non profit organization Experience with annual fund, direct mail and stewardship activities also desired
