Tax Senior Analyst - Income Tax Compliance

Position Summary:

A member of the income tax compliance team. Responsible for preparation of aspects of the corporate tax return; review of other compliance preparation for the both the consolidated group as well as the business units. Provide support for tax planning opportunities and audits regarding transactional and operational issues; work on special projects as they develop and manage team of compliance staff. Assist tax manager and at times lead projects for the federal compliance group

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and review of the consolidated return for federal income tax compliance as well as the compliance requirements for business units
  • Detail review international compliance including: 1042, 1118, 5471, and 5472s; complete tax return work by specified deadlines
  • Detail review of multi-state corporate income and franchise tax returns including coordinating, gathering and analyzing supporting data from internal and external resources
  • Assist the Tax Manager with managing, maintaining and reviewing the processes and systems of federal and state local tax compliance which includes estimated cash payments, cash tax forecasts, extensions, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of US Quarterly and annual income tax provision. This includes journal entry and account reconciliation preparation
  • Assist when needed with adherence to department policies regarding managing, updating and ensuring the tax accounting quarterly and annual procedures and compliance with required SOX control objectives
  • Provide support for federal and state income tax audits by working with the Tax Manager to respond to IDRs
  • Provide information for tax planning projects as needed
  • Involvement with special projects including process development, coordination with business units, and addressing various tax technical issues
  • Assist with managing and developing the tax staff analysts
  • Assist the Tax Managers with implementing the new tax process and automation

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-4 years in income tax related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Finance or related field
  • Master's degree in Taxation preferred
  • CPA license preferred
  • Experience with Corporate Income Tax Returns

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Action-oriented self-starter with excellent project management skills
  • Able to manage competing priorities and multiple time sensitive projects in a dynamic environment
  • Results driven with ability to take initiative and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of team and independently
  • Experience working in a large public accounting firm or large corporate tax department
  • Strong working knowledge of income tax software (i.e. OneSource), on-line research tools (i.e. RIA checkpoint), and accounting systems (i.e. SAP)
  • Knowledge of Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740) a plus, but not required
